Machine Gun Kelly confronted a fan who crashed the stage during his appearance at the Forbes Under 30 Summit in Cleveland yesterday, Oct. 10.
The strange disruption occurred about 10 minutes into MGK’s discussion, with the musician reacting swiftly after he spotted the stranger on stage. MGK leaped up from his chair, clenched his fists, and told the person, “My man, get the fuck away from me. Yo, what are you doing? What are you doing? This is a bad look. Don’t make me do this.”
Though not fully audible, the stage-crasher appeared to reply, “I got you man. I want to help you out here.” There was no physical confrontation between MGK and the person, and security quickly grabbed the man and hauled him off stage.
The livestream of the discussion cut out for a few minutes, but when it returned, MGK brushed aside the incident: “I’m sorry, I try to live the dichotomy more on this side than the other side. I left that other guy in the past, I’m really sorry.” He then apologized for his “primal reaction” to the incident, though the crowd seemed to appreciate the way he handled it. (And at least the stage-crasher didn’t mention trying to put his fingers in Megan Fox’s mouth — something MGK is definitely not down to hear anything about.)
Machine Gun Kelly has spent most of 2023 touring as he continues to promote his most recent album, last year’s Mainstream Sellout. He did drop one new bit of new music this year, the single “Pressure,” which found him dripping his toes back into rap after a couple of albums in the pop-punk trenches.
